Boho Fall Bear Creek Farm Wedding

Kaylyn + Evan’s Bear Creek Farm was a dream come true! From the moment we met them, we had an extra special connection with them, aside from fall being our favorite season. Their wedding day was filled with so much love, laughter, and extra special sentimental moments.

We absolutely loved their wedding party!! They were so much fun and you could tell they were not only friends - but family. Seriously though. There were siblings mixed in and we still aren't sure who was actually family and who was framily. Plus, so many of the attendants were partners themselves and their children were part of the wedding party. It made the day feel extra special and fun. Also, their candid photos are some of our absolute favorites and I’m sure you can see why we loved them so much.

We wanted to let you know how absolutely AMAZING all of the flowers were for our special day. I showed you guys my inspiration pictures and you completely blew it out of the water. Everyone was in awe. The flowers were the talk of the day. You guys absolutely KILLED IT. It was EVERYTHING. You two are so talented and we can NOT thank you enough for everything you did to make this day an absolute dream for us!

Planning a Boho Fall Wedding at Bear Creek Farm

They chose the absolutely perfect fall wedding colors! During the consultation process, they said they wanted a bohemian vibe with an earth tone color palette. We love all things terracotta and tan, so we were going to be the perfect match!

Kaylyn chose earthy colors like deep reds, oranges, and browns as the main theme of their wedding decor and it was like being transported into a wild autumnal wonderland. Incorporating natural elements like wood, grasses, and greenery brought a rustic feel to their wedding.

Fall is the perfect time for gorgeous locally grown flowers, including our favorite dahlia - cornel bronze! All the fall colors came together beautifully to create the perfect rust wedding bouquet of her dreams.

Boho Glam Wedding Reception at Bear Creek Farm

When Kaylyn came to us, she had so many great ideas for their reception decor, but needed help bringing it together to execute her visions. We included lots of natural elements such as locally grown flowers, grasses, and wicker into their wedding decor to bring the outdoors into their reception.

Incorporating bold florals with lots of texture and greenery enhanced the boho feel. We installed pampas grass and flowers to wicker peacock chairs to create an unforgettable backdrop for the sweetheart table at their reception, which were later taken to a photo shoot in the field at sunset.

We love getting creative with bud vases filled with flowers and lush greenery on their reception tables!

Bear Creek Farm is a Gorgeous White Barn Wedding Venue in Michigan

When it comes to planning a boho fall wedding, why not explore some of those fun, unconventional venue options? Consider outdoor venues like backyards, nature centers, farms, or in this case, a white barn venue with a stunning open field.

The wedding boom everyone is talking about is definitely here and we are still seeing a huge rise since before the pandemic. However, we are seeing that more and more people are opting for those unique venues. Michigan wedding planner, Emmaleigh White, says, “After booking your wedding planner, couples should begin researching and secure their wedding venue 12 to 18 months in advance. If you’re looking to get married in December or November I suggest 6 to 9 months out. For destination weddings, 18 to 20 months.”

As florists, we always have a backup plan (an emergency arch) in case of inclement weather. But if the weather holds (and 99% of the time it does) you can enjoy the stunning views that nature provides for photos and some live music for some ambiance.

Whenever we design an outdoor ceremony, we always are looking for ways to extend the surrounding into our designs. With Bear Creek Farm, you get the benefit of an outdoor venue where you can frame your ceremony with stunning willows swaying in the background and a pond that’s filled with the sounds of nature to enhance romance and create a magical atmosphere that you and your guests will love!

One of the things that we tell all of our clients is to make sure you schedule some time just for the two of you on your wedding day. Don’t just assume it will happen because it won’t! When choosing a wedding venue, it’s great to keep those intimate moments in mind, so you can pop out of the reception for a few moments together.

Kaylyn + Evan made sure to schedule a sunset photoshoot in a field on the property into their day and the results are stunning! These are moments and photos they will look back on and cherish for a lifetime.

Meaningful Connections With Clients + Community

Kait, especially, had a sentimental connection with them for a few reasons. One of them, sadly, was the heartbreaking loss of a loved one the year before. Grief is something that you can’t even begin to comprehend until you are going through it. We were honored to create a tribute to Evan’s mom at their ceremony and see so many of the special moments throughout the day as Kaylyn + Evan celebrated their beautiful love. It was truly an honor to be a small part of their day!

One of the things that we love about our community is the connection we create - knowing and unknowingly! This was no exception to how they found us. Kaylyn had heard about us from their amazing wedding planner Emmaleigh, but also on their wedding day we found out that her hairstylist had seen another wedding we did the year before and told her we would be a perfect fit for the style they wanted. We love seeing all the connections made through this amazing community!
